Day twelve- Paris

This morning, at 11.06AM, I left my host family behind and moved on to Paris. Maxime and his friend, Pierre, met us at the train station and helped us find our hotel. It's SUPER ghetto. I am really uncomfortable staying here, but at least we aren't on the streets. Our plan to sneak three people into a one-person room failed though, and we ended up paying for two shitty hotel rooms. But after we figured all that out, Maxime and Pierre took us through the Louvre. We saw egyptian, greek, and italian works--including the Mona Lisa (of course). Then we went to the Champs Elysees and saw the Arc de Triomphe. After that, we went to the Eiffel Tower, where we ran into Veera who was out on a meeting day with other people and her advisor while she's in france. That was cool. Then Maxime and Pierre tried to help me find a tabac shop so i could get more minutes on my phone, but the only one we found was closed, so they pointed us in the right direction and got us on the bus before saying goodbye. I'm so thankful for their help. We would have gotten completely lost without them. We went to the Gare du Nord and tried to get tickets to Switzerland on Monday, but the trains were all full, so now we don't know what we are going to do. We are thinking about cancelling all our hotels and just taking it day by day. I have also contemplated returning to Arras, since I would consider my time just as well spent with my host family. I miss them already! But I'm going to travel for at least a little while I've decided. I'd regret not exploring at least a little. I can always come back earlier if im not enjoying where we are and spend more time with them at the end of the journey. I will see you tomorrow though. I'm skyping mick til I fall asleep again.
